If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably spent more time than you’d care to admit cranking up the volume on your favorite metal playlist. But sometimes, even the most die-hard among us need a little break from the mosh pit. I’ve been thinking about how some TV shows just get us, you know? Over the past years, I have spent a lot of time looking for TV shows that understand the real me and the love I have for metal music.
So now, I’ll be sharing the best metal TV shows I’ve seen my whole life, and why you should watch them if you haven’t yet. You should line them up for your next TV streaming session because trust me, they’re really that good. Without further ado, let’s start!
Twin Peaks (1990-1991)
3 seasons, 48 episodes
I think “Twin Peaks” is a must-watch for metalheads and rock fans. It’s this weird, dark show about an FBI agent trying to solve a small-town girl’s murder. Honestly, it’s the killer soundtrack that got me at first. A lot of metal bands have been inspired by it, and you’ll actually understand why when you watch it. It’s quirky and sooo twisted. It’s totally worth your time if you like shows or stories that are a little out there.
Just make sure that if you’re going to binge-watch this series online, check your internet connection and see if it’s fast and stable enough. Regardless of your internet, whether it’s fiber or satellite internet, always do this to avoid delays and buffering.

Metalocalpyse (2006-2023)
4 seasons, 64 episodes
“Metalocalypse” (2006-2023) totally cracked me up—this show is brutally hilarious and even got a special and a movie to wrap things up. It’s all about Dethklok, a fictional death metal band so massive they’re treated like gods, except they’re complete idiots. You’ve got four seasons of these guys stumbling through insane situations and accidentally causing chaos wherever they go while they shred killer riffs. If you like dark humor, you’ll enjoy this show so much. Plus, the music slaps so hard. This one’s a riot worth watching.

Todd and the Book of Pure Evil (2010-2012)
2 seasons, 26 episodes
This TV show is about a metalhead kid and his group of friends who are trying to stop a cursed book that makes bad stuff happen. People use the book, things get messy and bloody, and Todd’s crew has to fix it. It’s got dark jokes and a wild vibe that metal fans will like. Personally, the chaos with dark humor is right up my alley, and if you’re into that kind of thing too, you’ll probably dig it as much as I did.
If you’re planning to stream this TV show, as I’ve said earlier, a fast internet connection is a must. If your current plan isn’t equipped for streaming, it’s best to look for better plans like what you often see in Boost Infinite deals and the like.

Metal Evolution (2011-2014) 12 episodes
1 season, 12 episodes
If you want to know more about the history of heavy metal, “Metal Evolution” is a show you must watch. It’s hosted by Sam Dunn, a total metal nerd who travels around talking to legends and breaking down how the genre grew and developed over the years. Each episode talks about different metal styles like thrash or doom, and the best part is it’s backed with interviews and clips that metalheads like me would enjoy.

Final Thoughts
At some point, it felt like the metal world shrank for a while. However, when I found these gems, it was a blast of distortion cranked to eleven. These TV shows reminded me why I fell in love with heavy metal in the first place. They’ve kept me sane on quiet nights, and I bet they’ll do the same for you. What do you think? Do you have any favorites I missed? Share them with us!
