Theatre Review: “PY1: Through The Echoes” Is Amazingly Lit

A dream-like experience of light, sound, and spectacular visual effects, the PY1 pyramid offers a unique entertainment environment that can be enjoyed as a personal journey or with friends and family.

In speaking one-on-one with Martin Langelier, the Marketing Manager with Lune Rouge Entertainment, he advised that the Canadian-based company was very excited about its U.S. debut in North Texas and creating space for a new niche in a sports-dominated area of entertainment. Nestled in Pyramid-shaped tents at Globe Life Park in Arlington, this amazing, 81-foot-tall structure is set up for all ages, incorporating a mixture of lasers, revolving picturesque backgrounds, musical accompaniment, and storytelling in a cozy setting with reclined campfire seating.

The co-creators of the world-renowned Cirque du Soleil acrobatic productions have come up with two distinctly paired shows that are breathtaking features of light and life in sync with one another. “Through The Echoes,” directed by Gabriel Couto Dumont, is a 50-minute laser-projected journey that starts and ends around a campfire setting. His artistic imagery comes from his childhood experiences and encourages the audience to embrace their yearning to understand how the universe unfolds. “Stella, The Time Machine Journey” is a 40-minute multimedia show that encourages kids to participate in a time machine as products of stardust. Annie Brocoli, the writer and director, does an amazing job of reminding the audience that they are creatures of light and she encourages them to find the inner strength to explore. “PY1-Nights” is an added feature that transforms the entire space into a dance party venue available to corporate and individuals for themed parties and events.

This new source of entertainment is an amazing place to visit and explore the laser-themed production that is full of creativity and thought-provoking imagery that can be enjoyed by all ages. While all seats seemed to be amazing from a viewer’s standpoint, it may be helpful to know that it is open-seating and the reclining seats nearest the campfire are the first to go. With a bit of an optical adjustment for the extensive display of lighting, it is more than worthy of a family trip, an interesting date night, or to hang out with friends for a new and enlightening experience!
