Movie Review: “No Responders Left Behind” Will Leave You Speechless

“No Responders Left Behind” follows 9/11 social activists Jon Stewart and John Feal as they take on the U.S. government to ensure Health and Compensation for thousands of ailing First Responders who are dying from toxins released at Ground Zero.

Twenty years later, first responders are still not able to financially cover health expenses for life-threatening illnesses acquired during 9/11. This topic is mindblowing because it is unimaginable that in this country, the very people who charged into a building, risking their lives to save others, do not receive the benefits needed to cover proper medical attention.

This documentary takes you through the campaign in an attempt to attain health coverage for those who have acquired life-threatening illnesses due to the deadly residue during the attacks. The Feel Good Foundation whose mission, according to their website, is to assist all emergency personnel, firefighters, police officers, nurses, volunteers, sanitation workers, transportation workers, and construction workers within the United States who have been injured, or face serious injury due to action or omission, in the course of their duties or within their everyday lives.

Led by Activist John Feal, Jon Stewart, and other members, they tirelessly fight for rights to attain benefits. If you’re into activism, human rights, or social change, you’re going to love this documentary. Just a warning, this story is triggering as 9/11 is and will always be a very sensitive topic especially for us New Yorkers. I’m absolutely speechless and disgusted watching this but on a positive note, this documentary does leave you with a sense of hope.

“No Responders Left Behind” will premiere on Discovery+ September 9th
