Cannes: Wonderphil Acquires Josh Meyers Comedy “Last Supper,” Family Film “Gibby” And More

Ahead of Cannes, Wonderphil Entertainment has announced the acquisition of a range of high-profile titles they’ll be representing in France – including family comedy “Gibby,” starring Crystal the Monkey and Sean Patrick Flannery, and the Josh Meyers comedy “Last Supper.”

Company has also acquired revenge thriller “Branded,” starring brothers Jeremy London (“Mallrats”) and Jason London (“Dazed & Confused”), for US release this year. Film tells of a young man, living in exile for the killing of his brother. Then one day he receives a mysterious letter that claims to be from the late sibling, and sets off on a journey to discover the truth.

“Last Supper” stars Meyers, Penny Marshall, and Eddie Griffin, and tells of two lunatics that escape from a mental institution and document their quest to find a princess.

“Gibby,” starring Flannery, Shannon Elizabeth, and Vivica. A.Fox, fixes on a teenager’s friendship with a Capuchin monkey (played by Crystal from “The Hangover Part 2” and the “Night at the Museum” trilogy). Two sequels are already in development.

US Release dates to be announced.

Shingle, led by independent filmmaker Phil Gorn, has also acquired drama “Curveball,” a sports drama starring acclaimed actress Lynn Whitfield, about the star pitcher of a high school baseball team who makes one wrong decision which quickly curveballs into a life of unexpected mayhem.

Wonderphil’s recent crop of releases include “Sex, Marriage and Infidelity” and “Richard: The Lionheart” starring Malcolm McDowell.
