Will Daniel Craig Appear In “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”?

When Disney announced to the world that “Star Wars Episode VII” was going to happen, the internet and indeed, the galaxy, was rife with rumors and speculation. Everything from Benedict Cumberbatch playing a Sith Lord (technically, that’s still a possibility) and even the appearance of, love him or hate him, Jar Jar Binks, fans have been going wild and undoubtedly, it will continue, right up to the movie’s release.

But now, there is a rumor that none other than James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, will be appearing in the movie as a stormtrooper. What’s not clear, is whether he will be voicing the stormtroopers, just like Temuera Morrison did in the prequels or if he will actually make an appearance.

According to Mike the Film Guy, multiple sources have confirmed that the actor will be a soldier in the Empire’s army in the upcoming movie. These sources do not specify how long he might be in the movie or even if he has any lines but they do insist that he will be in the movie in some capacity.

The plot of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” has been set 30 years after the events of the original trilogy. Some of the fans who have not watched the animation series from the franchise did not know that the Empire started to recruit people as stormtroopers during the last 30 years and did not rely only on the clones.

If the reports about Daniel Craig being cast as a stormtrooper are true, then it can be expected that “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will follow the same storyline as the animation series. Fans of the franchise are excited to see what other changes may have happened during the last 30 years in the galaxy far far away.

“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” opens in theaters December 18th.
