Tracee Bond Talks With The Young Cast Of “Troop Zero” Who Are Headed Straight To The Top

In interviewing the three young stars of “Troop Zero,” which included Mckenna Grace (Christmas), Charlie Shotwell (Joseph) and Milan Ray (Hell-No Price), I was profoundly aware that these talented actors seemed far beyond the age of innocence and totally capable of steering their careers in whatever positive direction they chose.

When asked what drew them to the movie, each responded that they fell in love with the script that allowed them simply to be the kids they were. Milan was confident that her level of trust with expressing herself had increased by developing a close bond with Mckenna and Charlie during the two months of filming and Mckenna and Charlie were both attracted to the music and clothing from the 1970s. Even though it was before each was born, they seemed to be very familiar with the melodies and lyrics.

Working with two directors, Katie Ellwood and Amber Templemore-Finlayson, was a first for them, however, they indicated that the two women, as well as writer Lucy Alibar, were entirely in sync with one another and allowed them to review the film in segments to give their own personal feedback, which was a great learning tool. The one thing that each of them hoped to be a takeaway was to never be afraid to be yourself (Charlie), always follow your dreams (McKenna) and to not let bullies define who you are (Milan). Having spoken with all three, I can truly see how their youthful energy, poise, and knowledge beyond their years, will help to make this film a monumental success!

“Troop Zero” is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video
