STARZ Acquires U.S. Rights To Nick Jonas/Isabel Lucas Thriller “Careful What You Wish For”

Starz announced that it has acquired all U.S. distribution rights to the highly anticipated, “Careful What You Wish For,” starring Nick Jonas (American Singer/Songwriter, “Goat”), Isabel Lucas (“Knight of Cups,” “Red Dawn,” “Immortals”), Graham Rogers (TV’s “Quantico”, “Crazy Kind of Love”) and Dermot Mulroney (“The Grey,” TV’s “Shameless”), written by Chris Frisina, and directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum (“Ramona and Beezus,” “Aquamarine”). Starz Digital is planning a June 2016 theatrical and VOD release, followed by an exclusive TV premiere on STARZ later this year.

A steamy thriller set in a wealthy vacation community, “Careful What You Wish For” is a story of seduction, deceit and betrayal. The summer before he leaves for college, a young man (Jonas) begins an affair with the beautiful wife (Lucas) of his powerful investment banker neighbor (Mulroney). The plot thickens when a suspicious death embroils the young lovers in scandal.

Hyde Park-ImageNation and Troika Pictures financed the film with Amasia Entertainment and Roberi Media, in association with Merced Media Partners and Myriad Pictures. The producers are Ashok Amritraj, Michael A. Helfant, Robert L. Stein, Bradley Gallo and Kirk D’Amico.

Starz Digital’s upcoming releases include Jason Bateman’s “The Family Fang,” starring Nicole Kidman, Bateman, Christopher Walken and Maryann Plunkett, and Robert Edwards’ “One More Time,” starring Christopher Walken and Amber Heard. Recent titles include Sean Mewshaw’s “Tumbledown,” starring Rebecca Hall and Jason Sudeikis, Dito Montiel’s “Boulevard,” starring Robin Williams in his final dramatic performance, and Amy Berg’s “Every Secret Thing,” starring Diane Lane, Dakota Fanning and Elizabeth Banks.
