“Sabaya” follows a group into Syria’s Al-Hol, a dangerous camp in the Middle East, as they risk their lives to save women being held by ISIS as abducted sex slaves.
As I sit in my living room with the freedom to relax and enjoy my evening, over in Syria, thousands of Yazidi women and girls are being held captive as sex slaves in the most dangerous camps in the Middle East. While I’ve yet to hear outrage or protesting where I live to have these girls released, one brave man named Mahmud and his team, including women who infiltrate the camp, risk their lives to liberate these victims.
As I watch Mahmud search each tent for a Yazidi girl, I’m afraid he will be caught and killed by the terrorist group. This is such an important documentary that should trigger most as it is inconceivable there are young women and girls being captured and sold as sex slaves and the only man risking his life to save them has an outdated cell phone and a small gun. This documentary is brave, scary, and outrageous, I can’t believe this is happening and I’ll be sharing it with everyone I know.
