Reliant Returns To Illuminate AT&T Performing Arts Center For Holidays

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center today announced that its annual free holiday event, Reliant® Lights Your Holidays, will take place Saturday, December 5th. The event which is held on the AT&T Performing Arts Center campus in Dallas, from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., will feature:

  • Illumination of hundreds of thousands of dazzling LED lights placed on the Center’s iconic venues and trees.
  • Live performances by Dallas-based choral symphonic rock band The Polyphonic Spree, Grammy Award nominee Bubba Hernandez y Los Super Vatos, and cast members of the Jersey Boys national tour. Each will perform a selection of their own hits and holiday classics and are being presented by the David M. Crowley Foundation.
  • Free photos with Santa.
  • A fireworks display in Elaine D. and Charles A. Sammons Park.

On the same day, Celebrate the Holidays at Klyde Warren Park Generously Supported by Margot and Ross Perot, will take place from 12-6 p.m. Activities will include:

  • Free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
  • Live reindeer.
  • Holiday kids’ crafts.
  • A mailbox to send letters to Santa.
  • Face painting.
  • Food trucks.
  • Activities and demonstrations from our Dallas arts and cultural friends and neighbors.
  • Holiday music entertainment.
  • A tree lighting of the Klyde Warren Park Christmas tree.

Following the Park’s tree-lighting at 5:45 p.m., Santa and Mrs. Claus will lead the crowd to the AT&T Performing Arts Center. Attendees are encouraged to make the five-minute walk from Klyde Warren Park to the AT&T Performing Arts Center where the Reliant Lights Your Holidays festivities will be under way.

Reliant Lights Your Holidays festivities begin at 5:30 p.m. in Sammons Park on the AT&T Performing Arts Center campus with holiday music and food trucks. Pearl Cup Coffee will also be open in the Information Center.

Elizabeth Killinger, president of NRG Retail and Reliant, will help flip the switch and illuminate more than 550,000 holiday lights across the Center’s campus. The lights, which will remain on throughout the holiday season, will outline the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House, the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre and trees in Elaine D. and Charles A. Sammons Park.

Reliant and the Center continue their partnership with Reliant’s sponsorship of this signature holiday event. Reliant is the Official Energy Provider of the AT&T Performing Arts Center, and recently partnered with the Center to sponsor the highly successful Aurora – Powered by Reliant event in the Dallas Arts District.

“Reliant is proud to partner with the AT&T Performing Arts Center for the third year in a row, helping brighten the holidays with a creative display of LED lights at the Center,” said Killinger. “This celebration is a great way for friends, family and the Dallas community to gather together and enjoy the spirit of the season.”

Several other performances will take place in the Arts District on the evening of December 5th. Dallas Theater Center will present A Christmas Carol and Clarkston in the Wyly Theatre at 8:00 p.m.; the Center will present Peter Pan 360 at 7:30 p.m. in the nearby Threesixty Theatre Tent; and The Dallas Opera will present the Linda and Mitch Hart Institute for Women Conductors Performance in the Winspear Opera House at 7:30 p.m.
