“Paper Spiders” Crawls Onto DVD June 22

Los Angeles, CA – May 26, 2021 – Distributor Entertainment Squad announced today that the heartfelt mother-daughter drama “Paper Spiders” will be available to own on DVD June 22nd. The film stars Lili Taylor, Stefania LaVie Owen, Ian Nelson, and Peyton List, directed by Inon Shampanier and co-written by Shampanier and Natalie Shampanier. “Paper Spiders” is one of the best-reviewed films of 2021, standing at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

“Paper Spiders” is now playing in select theaters, available to rent or own on VOD/digital, and will be released on DVD following May’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

In “Paper Spiders,” a high school senior’s life turns upside down as her mother’s paranoid delusions spiral out of control. It’s a bittersweet story about coming of age in the shadow of mental illness.

Shaked Berenson, Entertainment Squad’s CEO said “‘Paper Spiders’ shines a light on the challenges of coping with mental illness. It provides both entertainment, and the forum to discuss important issues.”

Inon Shampanier, the director, said “We are encouraged by the wonderful reception of the film by audiences and critics alike. Beyond providing entertainment, we hope that the film will continue to reach people coping with mental health challenges or supporting loved ones who do and make them feel less alone in their journeys. The film was a labor of love for our excellent cast and crew, and we are moved by the loving reactions to their work.”

RespectAbility, an organization dedicated to promoting the authentic portrayal of people with disabilities in the media, highly recommended the movie “for its honest depiction of paranoia, and the sensitive balance of comedy and realistic drama, anchored by great performances.”

“Paper Spiders” was produced by Idiot Savant Pictures’ Anne Clements and Cranium Entertainment’s Ash Christian, the maverick indie producer who passed away last year.
