Independent movie hub ‘IndieFlix’ is thrilled to announce a new partnership with PBS. IndieFlix now carries over 85 original PBS films on their site, making them available to all IndieFlix subscribers in the US.
IndieFlix is a streaming service available across Asia and in 85 countries around the world (including Cuba). CEO Scilla Andreen says, “We’re on a mission to grow IndieFlix to be the number one destination to find all things quality in the world of independence. When I hear PBS I instantly think excellence. I grew up on PBS and to this day it’s my go to channel to find something good to watch. We are thrilled to partner with PBS to bring their highly curated films to our subscribers. Our audience and PBS make a perfect match and as companies we share the same mission. It’s a great fit.”
Some of the films that will be available include “Spies of Mississippi,” “Soul Food Junkies” and the “Makers” series. “The partnership with IndieFlix is part of a PBS initiative to connect with Indie film fans and to support independent films and documentaries,” says PBS programming boss Beth Hoppe. She adds, “The new approach will help us reach the younger, diverse audiences who are among the most passionate fans of indies. IndieFlix has mastered the online space in this way and is making great headway in delivering these films direct to the audience. We’re excited to be working with IndieFlix.”
Other IndieFlix partnerships include Sundance, Oscilloscope Laboratories, Vulcan Films, Premium Films, The Scottish Documentary Institute, AFI, NYU and The Animation Workshop just to name a few.
