Gunpowder & Sky Distribution To Release Record-Breaking Skydive Documentary “14 Minutes From Earth”

Gunpowder & Sky Distribution announced today that it has licensed the rights to distribute Atomic Entertainment’s Jerry Kolber and Adam Davis’s documentary “14 Minutes from Earth” and will release the film across on all major digital HD and On Demand platforms on November 15th. The film documents the journey that lead to a historic and awe-insipring 14 minute dive, the highest sky dive ever, that Alan Eustace made from the upper stratosphere to Earth. “14 Minutes from Earth had its world premiere at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival, where Eustace was honored with a 2016 Tribeca Disruptive Innovation Award.

“Even though this film is about my journey to space and 35 mile drop back down to earth, it still keeps me on the edge of my seat. There’s so many tense moments and so much beautiful footage from the three years it took to make these 14 minutes a reality. I wouldn’t do it again – not least because my wife won’t let me,” said Alan Eustace.

“Alan’s passion and dedication to the pursuit of knowledge and adventure is inspiring. When we saw ’14 Minutes From Earth’ and met Alan, we knew we wanted to be on board to support telling his amazing story,” said Gunpowder & Sky Distribution’s Jake Hanly.

Imagine you’re Alan Eustace. You’re in your mid-50’s, you’ve got two young daughters and a loving wife at home and you’re the ‘Senior Vice-President of Knowledge’ at Google – but none of that matters to you right now, because in less than a minute the giant balloon strapped to your back is going to inflate to the size of a football stadium as it carries you over 135,000 feet straight up into the stratosphere, higher than any man has ever gone without a rocket ship! “14 Minutes From Earth” documents every harrowing moment of Alan’s unprecedented mission to promote science and space-exploration. From a crazy idea sketched on a napkin, to dangling in outer space wondering if he’ll ever see his family again – you’ll experience every pulse-racing failure and feel-good triumph of the world’s most unlikely space explorer.

Working and filming in utmost secrecy with a small team of engineers and scientists over three years, Alan and his small team achieved what no one had before: the creation of a new spacecraft that could provide a lightweight and safer way to explore 30 miles into space. The road to the stars was paved with engineering challenges, incredible obstacles, and near-death experiences, all chronicled in this inspiring, nail-biting, hair-raising documentary.

“14 Minutes from Earth” will be available on Amazon Video, Google Play, iTunes, Microsoft Movies & TV, Sony PlayStation, and Vudu November 15th.
