“Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance” shows us the meeting and courtship of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
Produced by Lifetime Pictures, “Harry & Meghan: A Royal Romance” gives us the intimate details of the most talked about romantic pairing of the year. Prince Harry, son of Prince Charles and the late Princess Diana, and Meghan Markle, actress and commoner, met on a blind date and took the world by storm as their two hearts evolved into one deeply impactful love.
In the seemingly whirlwind romance, Prince Harry, who was known for being wild, single and rebellious, was completely smitten by an older, African-American actress and divorcée. As their feelings grew for one another to the point of marriage consideration, the couple and the entire royal family came under scrutiny for going against almost every known protocol of their historic and prestigious line of rank and file predecessors. Regardless of the adversity, Harry was determined to do whatever he could to stand up for the woman who had made him the happiest ever and fiercely independent Meghan was determined that, in spite of all the naysayers, she could still have the man of her dreams and be her own woman.
The love story which appears to be a realistic fairytale shows the negativity and brashness that the couple was subjected to while at the same time revealing a massive break in social protocol as the Queen of England gave her royal blessing and the entire royal family followed suit. Lifetime did a wonderful job in showing every aspect of the on again/off again relationship that was scrutinized publicly and privately, but in the end, came together showing that love truly conquers all. The complex personalities of both Harry and Meghan and the well-cast actors (Murray Fraser and Parisa Fitz-Henley), provided a great level of entertainment as the two competed against one another in order to win the one love that they both deserved. This ninety-nine minutes of a deeply intimate, against-all-odds love affair, developed under the world’s microscope, is definitely a keeper.
