Director Paul Feig Makes Sci-Fi Sitcom “Other Space” Available For Fans To Stream

Paul Feig is seeking a second chance for “Other Space,” his sci-fi comedy that ran for one season on Yahoo! Screen in 2015. The “Ghostbusters” and “Spy” writer/director has placed all eight episodes of the series online at www.ShareOtherSpace.com with the hope of building a larger fan base and seeking out a new broadcaster for season two. Viewers are encouraged to spread the word across social media by sharing the link alongside a #ShareOtherSpace hashtag.

Set in the early 22nd century, “Other Space” chronicles the misadventures of a bickering space exploration crew whose star cruiser ends up lost in an unknown universe. The series holds a 91% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, was named one of the “20 best TV shows of 2015” by Rolling Stone, and was hailed as “The Next Great Comedy” by Cinema Blend. Yet despite critical acclaim, “Other Space” toiled in anonymity on Yahoo’s fledgling streaming service, which has since shut down. “The fact nobody saw it, that’s what makes me crazy,” Feig says. “It’s just never had its day in court.”

In addition to streaming “Other Space” for free at www.ShareOtherSpace.com, Feig has ensured the episodes are no longer geoblocked, meaning viewers outside the United States can finally tune in. Feig believes the key to “Other Space”’s survival is a strong social media push, which has the ability to build an international audience. “This is probably one of the biggest labors of love I’ve ever been involved with,” he explains. “It’s something I’m hugely proud of, and something we’re all dying to do more of.”

The “Other Space” cast includes fresh-faced actors Karan Soni (“Deadpool,” “Blunt Talk”), Milana Vayntrub (“Ghostbusters,” “This Is Us”), and Neil Casey (“Ghostbusters,” “Inside Amy Schumer”), plus “Mystery Science Theater 3000” legends Joel Hodgson and Trace Beaulieu.
