Career, friendships, hardships, relationships, hook-ups, credit card debt, being a daughter, being a grown-up … it’s all a bit much for Senna Berges (Sharon Stone) in writer-director Susan Walter’s wry romantic comedy “All I Wish.”
Zipping around Los Angeles on her Vespa and living a shaggy, freewheeling existence of her own design, Senna marks her 46th birthday as she has many others: Talking to her loving-but-concerned mom Celia (Ellen Burstyn), hanging out with her pal Darla (Liza Lapira), and hoping to make a sale with boutique store owner Vanessa (Famke Janssen), who thinks Senna’s handbag fashions aren’t working. As each year brings another birthday, Senna re-evaluates her life – and reconsiders dating Adam (Tony Goldwyn), the transplanted Boston lawyer Darla once set her up with. But as consecutive birthdays come and go, Senna has her own “coming of age.” Now she just has to figure out which parts of her colorful life she should unwrap.
