Alex Saveliev’s Top Films Of 2018

An existential horror/sci-fi hybrid. An absurdist historical dramedy. A Spanish ode to the traumas of childhood. An edge-of-your-seat mountain-climbing doc. A Hollywood art thriller. A subtle examination of the American dream under the guise of a thrilling heist flick. A mind-blowing animated feature. A film shot entirely on iPhones. A South-Korean chiller. Nicolas Cage’s long-awaited – and utterly bonkers – return.

Here’s my list of the best films of 2018.

Note: I have not seen “Roma,” “Vice,” “Vox Lux,” or “If Beale Street Could Talk” – all of which may be contenders.
