The Alamo Drafthouse of Denton made its formal debut with a ribbon-cutting and traditional Sabering ceremony on the patio of its Vetted Well.
Sharing the stage with the Denton Area Chamber of Commerce, the North Texas Team, led by COO Bill DiGaetano and his business partner father, stated that the Denton location had been on the radar for a long time and would cater to the local college community. The Denton location, which is the 5th in the area, boasts of being the largest one in Texas and has a state-of-the-art Sony 4k Laser Dual Projection System. The auditoriums, which seat a total of 881 people, also have surround sound and a Premium Large Format as well as foot recliners and a Rocky Horror-Themed Lobby.
The Denton opening catered to its guests on a grand scale while debuting “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” on one of its 8 screens that is 66’ wide. The special line of “Jurassic World” vehicles being showcased on the front lot spoke volumes of Alamo’s commitment to theatrics while guests were treated to plenty of adult drinks from the well that pours thirty local beers. Specialty items from the menu such as pizza, sliders, and meatballs, were being served in mass quantities and one special prehistoric guest was there for plenty of pictures.
James Wallace, Alamo’s DFW Creative Manager, shared his excitement of being part of the local alumni who successfully helped to bring this project to fruition. Along with other great films, the Denton location will also showcase classic films on a 35mm projector and will remain a vital part of the local arts community. For a night of entertainment for the entire family, Alamo Drafthouse has set itself up to be hugely successful and that in itself is more than enough reason to make the natives proud!
