“Yellow Fever” follows a high school senior named Asia Bradford (“Glee”’s Jenna Ushkowitz) who was born in Korea and adopted by an eccentric white American family. She has purposely always had a very white social circle, distancing herself from all things Asian to make it clear that she is not “one of them.” As she struggles to deal with a broken heart and her search to find her place in an open-minded and multicultural America, an old family friend with issues of his own (“Gilmore Girls”’ Scott Patterson), who spent the better part of a decade living in Korea, comes to stay with them. The two unhappy souls form an unlikely friendship, which might just be exactly what they each needed to finally get over themselves and enjoy the lives they were dealt.
Starring Jenna Ushkowitz, Scott Patterson, Nahanni Johnstone, Michael Lowry, and Matthew Miniero.
Written and Directed by Kat Moon.
“Yellow Fever” is currently doing the film festival circuit
