TV Review: Netflix Brings You Another Great Mystery In “Monsters Inside: The 24 Faces Of Billy Milligan”

In the late 1970s, an accused serial rapist claims multiple personalities control his behavior, setting off a legal odyssey that captivates America.

The validity of multiple personality disorder is questioned after rapist Billy Milligan sexually assaults three women on a college campus claiming he didn’t remember committing any crimes. After he dodges prison time with the defense that one of his other personalities committed the crime, many begin to question the validity of this illness. As the disorder became popularized, an explosion of books and films like “Sybil,” sparked intrigue in psychiatrists and other medical professionals.

Many working on the case were not convinced and saw it as nothing but a hoax. This series examines whether or not this illness even exists and if those diagnosed should be punished for their crimes in the court of law. Netflix does it again, bringing you another great mystery that will keep you in limbo trying to figure out what is right and what is wrong.

Available to stream exclusively on Netflix Wednesday, September 22nd
