Tune In Tomorrow Night For CMT Instant Jam Featuring Darius Rucker

Nothing compares to home sweet home, as Darius Rucker saw firsthand on Wednesday (Aug. 26th). The award-winning singer traveled to Charleston, South Carolina, for a surprise concert for CMT’s Instant Jam series.

Performing some of his own songs, along with a handful of cover tunes, Rucker delighted the few hundred fans lucky enough to nab wristbands for the free show at the Wind Jammer.

Rucker hinted at a home-state jam on Twitter earlier in the week, then got more specific as he revealed his free show would take place in Charleston. On Tuesday, he told fans where and when they could score wristbands for the next night’s show.

The beachfront concert included Hootie & the Blowfish hits, “Let Her Cry” and “Only Wanna Be With You,” along with his take on Blackstreet’s “No Diggity,” and John Mellencamp‘s “Pink Houses.” He also shared a poignant moment with the audience with his a capella version of “Amazing Grace,” dedicating the hymn to the city following June’s church massacre.

A handful of lucky fans were treated to an exclusive pre-show barbecue thanks to Bush’s Grillin’ Beans. Check out fan photos from BUSH’S CMT Instant Jam Barbecue:
