TNT’s Enchanting Adventure “The Librarians” Opens Book On Season 2

This fall, TNT will return to the world of “The Librarians” with season 2 of the hit series. Based on TNT’s hit movie franchise, “The Librarians” centers on an ancient organization dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around. Rebecca Romijn (“X-Men”), Christian Kane (TNT’s “Leverage,” “Angel”), Lindy Booth (“Dawn of the Dead,” “The Philanthropist”) and John Kim (“Neighbors,” “The Pacific”) star in the series as protectors of the world’s mystical treasures, with Emmy® winner John Larroquette (“Night Court,” “The Brink”) as their reluctant caretaker. Noah Wyle (“Falling Skies,” “ER”) recurs as Flynn Carsen, the role he played in TNT’s movie trilogy.

Season 2 of “The Librarians” is slated to premiere with back-to-back episodes Sunday, Nov. 1st, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT). As with all TNT original series, episodes will be made available across the network’s on-demand, digital and mobile platforms the day after their linear premieres. In addition, TNT will stack the entire season of “The Librarians,” meaning episodes will remain available on demand throughout the entire season.

As the new season begins, a massive storm over Manhattan draws the Librarians back together to solve the mystery after having been off on their own for months. They soon discover the culprit is none other than Shakespeare’s Prospero. Meanwhile, Jenkins discovers there’s something wrong with the Library since it returned from the Void.

Throughout the season, “The Librarians”‘ individual identities will be challenged as they confront their pasts and potential futures. Their previous methods – where they could just jump from place to place, grabbing artifacts before they caused too much harm or putting ghosts and monsters to bed – just aren’t going to cut it anymore. Magic is popping in the world too fast and in too many ways to be completely hidden. Even the mission of the 2,000-year old Library has to change, creating a fundamental split between Eve Baird and Flynn Carsen that could completely derail the Librarians’ mission to protect the world.

“The Librarians” finished its first season as basic cable’s #2 new series, behind TNT’s “The Last Ship.” The show reached an average of 11.4 million viewers per episode across TNT’s VOD, digital and mobile platforms. “The Librarians” is produced by Electric Entertainment, with executive producers Dean Devlin, John Rogers, Marc Roskin and Noah Wyle.
