“The House Of Blue Leaves” ONSTAGE In Bedford Aug. 14 – 30

ONSTAGE in Bedford presents “The House of Blue Leaves.”

Set in Queens on the famous day Pope Paul visits New York City, we are introduced to a zookeeper who dreams of writing ditties in Hollywood, his schizoid, shut-in wife (aptly named Bananas), and his quietly explosive son, a GI headed straight for Vietnam. Oh, and there are some crazy nuns and a silent movie star. While you’re laughing your head off you might suddenly realize that what you’re finding so funny at once really isn’t funny at all. Directed by Mike Hathaway. Rated PG-13.
