The epic tale of David and Goliath comes to life when Season 1 of “House of David” arrives October 7th on Digital and October 28th on DVD from Lionsgate. Creator Jon Erwin (“I Can Only Imagine”) teamed up with Jon Gunn to direct and write this biblical tale, with its premiere season garnering 22 million viewers in the first 17 days on Prime Video, landing it in the top 10 new series debuts in the U.S. to date. It has now reached 40M viewers worldwide. “House of David” Season 1will be available on Digital for the suggested retail price of $14.99 for SD and $19.99 for HD, and on DVD for the suggested retail price of $26.98. Season 2 of “House of David” will be exclusively available with a Wonder Project subscription on Prime Video on October 5th, and wide on Prime Video at a later date.

“House of David” tells the story of the ascent of biblical icon, David, who eventually becomes the most renowned and celebrated king of Israel. The series follows the once-mighty King Saul as he falls victim to his own pride. At the direction of God, the prophet Samuel anoints an unlikely, outcast teenager as the new king. As Saul loses his power over his kingdom, David finds himself on a journey to discover and fulfill his destiny, navigating love, loss, and violence in the court of the very man he’s destined to replace. As one leader falls, another must rise.
