“That Sugar Film” Available On DVD September 1

Samuel Goldwyn Films is proud to announce the home entertainment release of “That Sugar Film,” one man’s journey to discover the bitter and shocking truth about sugar, on DVD on September 1st.

In “That Sugar Film,” director Damon Gameau embarks on a unique experiment to document the effects of a high sugar diet on a healthy body, consuming only foods that are commonly perceived, promoted and marketed as ‘healthy.’ Through this entertaining and informative journey, Damon highlights some of the issues that plague the sugar industry, and where sugar lurks on supermarket shelves. Damon meets leading experts in the field of sugar and some colorful characters with incredible stories to tell. “That Sugar Film” will forever change the way you think about ‘healthy’ food.

“That Sugar Film” is the perfect family film for the back-to-school season. The effects of too much sugar are sure to be a hot topic in schools this fall.

Described by renowned Chef Jamie Oliver as “A definite must-see,” the film features guest cameos from the likes of Hugh Jackman, Stephen Fry, Brenton Thwaites and Isabel Lucas, and interviews with Gary Taubes, Michael Moss and Kimber Stanhope. The soundtrack includes Depeche Mode, Peter Gabriel and Florence and the Machine.

“That Sugar Film” premiered at the 2015 Berlin Film Festival. It is written, directed and presented by Damon Gameau and produced by Nick Batzias for Madman Production Company in conjunction with Sprout Pictures and Metro International.
