Previously announced on August 24th, the cast of Artes de la Rosa’s “The Vagina Monologues,” which is playing for a strictly limited 6 performance run, included Louis Zapata Resident Acting Company Member, Emma Leigh Montes. On the evening of Monday the 12th, Ms. Montes took ill leaving her unable to continue with tech week creating a vacancy in the intimate production. Artistic Director Adam Adolfo Tuesday morning announced to the cast and production crew that actress Brynne Huffman would be joining the production learning Montes role in just 3 performances. Brynne Huffman will be making her Artes de la Rosa Debut on Friday night when the show has it’s one and only preview. The production will open as scheduled on Saturday night at 8:00 pm followed by it’s Opening Night “Desserts & Divas” event.
After a sold-out run in 2011, Artes de la Rosa brings back “The Vagina Monologues” for a limited 6 performance run! An Obie Award-winning whirlwind tour of a forbidden zone, “The Vagina Monologues” introduces a wildly divergent gathering of female voices, including a six-year-old girl, a septuagenarian New Yorker, a vagina workshop participant, a woman who witnesses the birth of her granddaughter, a Bosnian survivor of rape, and a feminist happy to have found a man who “liked to look at it.” The staging is decidedly ‘Texan’ featuring a “Spanglish” presentation of the award winning script to engage a Spanish speaking audience while not confusing an English speaking one.
Leading the cast are a list of Artes de la Rosa veterans including Louis Zapata Resident Company Elizabeth Thresher (Welcome to Arroyos), Kristi Smith Johnson (Man of La Mancha), Mindamora Rocha (Welcome to Arroyos), Celeste Spangler (Women on the Verge), Brittany Adelstein (Twelfth Night), and Christine Nicole Moreno (Artes Academy).
Production begins September 16th with a single preview and opening night September 17th at the Rose Marine Theater in Fort Worth for a strictly limited 6 performance engagement.

“The Vagina Monologues” begins performances September 16th with official opening night Saturday September 17th. Performances are Thursdays 7:30 pm, Fridays & Saturdays at 8:00 pm. There will be a single Sunday Matinee on September 25th at 3:00 pm. General Admission tickets are $16 for adults and $13 for students, teachers, & seniors. Opening Night Tickets are $20 and include a party with the cast and crew following the performances. Tickets are now on sale.
