New Movies To Keep An Eye Out For In 2025

We’re almost in the second half of 2025, and for movie lovers, that means two things: more highly anticipated movies will be released, and we’re all here for it. Yes, classic movies hit a different spot, but there’s also something about watching a prequel or a sequel of a film we’ve loved before. Nothing also beats the feeling and satisfaction of finding a new good movie that surprises you because of how good it is. This year, there are a lot of great movies that will be released, but a handful of them are literally worth waiting for.

In this blog post, we’ll be sharing some of the most anticipated movies that will be released in a few months. Some of them will probably be available on specific streaming services, but of course, expect them to be released in theaters first. Let’s start!

1. Final Destination: Bloodlines | In Theaters Now

“Bloodlines” is the sixth movie in the FINAL DESTINATION series that’s been freaking us out since 2000. If you think about it, it’s been decades, but the first movie is still fresh in many people’s minds up until today. Remember the crazy plane crash, the highway disaster, the rollercoaster scene, and the one that gave us the most anxiety: following a truck with stacked logs on it? This year, we’ll be getting another Final Destination movie, and it’s about a college student who keeps having nightmares about something bad happening. Now, this person plans to hunt the one person to prevent the cycle of death and save her entire family.

2. Karate Kid: Legends | May 30, 2025

If you watched Jaden Smith’s “Karate Kid,” you know the one with the Never Say Never soundtrack, you must watch this movie. The old 1984 movie had Daniel and Mr. Miyagi’s cool “wax on, wax off” stuff, and 2010 gave us Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan. Now, “Karate Kid: Legends” has a new kid, Li Fong, played by Ben Wang. He moves to New York City with his mom and has a hard time fitting in at school. When a friend needs help, Li enters a karate contest, but he’s not ready yet. So, Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han and Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso team up to teach him a mix of their moves for a big fight.

3. Megan 2.0 | June 27, 2025

This movie is just so timely with all the AI development happening in the world. The first “M3GAN” in 2023 freaked us out with a smart robot doll that went from cute to killer. Now, “M3GAN 2.0” ups the stakes. Two years later, Gemma, who made M3GAN, wants rules to keep AI safe. But then, a company makes a new AI called Amelia, a spy weapon meant to follow orders.

Trouble is, Amelia starts doing her own thing. To stop her, Gemma brings back M3GAN, but makes it stronger and scarier. We hope this movie becomes available on streaming platforms so we can line it up for our next TV streaming session.

4. Superman | July 11, 2025

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a new SUPERMAN movie. If you loved Christopher Reeve’s Superman from 1978 with its classic “you’ll believe a man can fly”, this new SUPERMAN movie is more about a younger Clark Kent finding his place. Directed by James Gunn, it stars David Corenswet as Clark, who’s figuring out how to balance his Kryptonian roots with the human values he learned from his adoptive family in Smallville, Kansas.

5. The Naked Gun | August 1, 2025

“The Naked Gun” brings back the goofy cop comedy from the ’80s and ’90s we’ve seen on Dish TV. In this new Naked Gun movie, we’ll see Liam Neeson, yes, the “Taken” guy, as Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the original detective. The plot’s still a big secret, but the synopsis says Frank Jr. will use his “particular set of skills” to lead the Police Squad and save the world from a crazy scheme, just like his dad’s wild adventures in the old films.

The Bottom Line

There you have it! The movies you need to look out for in 2025. There are still tons of must-see films in the final months of the year that go beyond this list. Just make sure to keep your eyes peeled so as not to miss quality movies that can make your 2025 better. Happy watching!
