“Mr. Robot” Jumps 36% In Week Two

USA Network’s award-winning series “Mr. Robot” saw strong growth in the L3 audience for the second episode on July 1st at 10pm, generating 1.41 MM in P18-49 (+36% from week one) and 1.61 in P25-54 (+34% from week one) and 3.2 MM total viewers (+13% from week one). The critically acclaimed series, which was already renewed for a second season, now ranks as the number two new scripted cable series of the year.

“Mr. Robot” follows Elliot (Rami Malek, “The Pacific”), a young programmer who works as a cyber-security engineer by day and as a vigilante hacker by night. Elliot finds himself at a crossroads when the mysterious leader (Christian Slater, “The Adderall Diaries”) of an underground hacker group recruits him to destroy the firm he is paid to protect. Compelled by his personal beliefs, Elliot struggles to resist the chance to take down the multinational CEOs he believes are running (and ruining) the world. The series also stars Portia Doubleday (“Her”), Carly Chaikin (“Suburgatory”) and Martin Wallström (“Simple Simon”).

On Wednesday’s all-new episode (eps1.2_d3bug.mkv), Elliot tries to lead a normal life – but is mysteriously lured back into fsociety. Gideon (recurring guest star Michel Gill) also gets suspicious of Elliot’s motives and Tyrell (Wallström) plays dirty at Evil Corp.

The series won over audiences at this year’s South By Southwest Festival in March, winning the coveted audience award in the Episodics category. “Mr. Robot” was also named an official selection of the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival in April.
