Movie Review: “The Music Sounds Better With Whom?” Asks The Question: Will The Future Of A.I. Disconnect Us From The Real Human Experience?

Documentary examining the impact of artificial intelligence on music.

Music today is definitely not what it used to be when I was growing up. Artists sang live concerts and music came from real bands. Hundreds of people gathered to share an experience together, crying out lyrics to their favorite song with both hands in the air hoping to touch the singer as the band gave them that one last note they love so much on the record, but it’s even better live because you can feel every emotion in the chords.

Decades later, we have Artificial Intelligence (AI) programmed machines emulating the very music we remember hearing from the instruments. These computers have the capacity to collect and organize music in the blink of an eye and replace the DJ at your next party but is this a bad thing? In this documentary, music industry producers, DJs and fanatics baffle with the idea of how AI will affect the future of creating music. Will machines be able to mimic the human connection we feel through songwriting and bring the intimate feeling? AI has already succeeded in casting talent, making artistic decisions and helping the creative process. Music is always evolving and many are excited to see how AI will improve our experience.

After watching this documentary, I personally feel super positive and look forward to the future of music.
