After the tragic death of star volleyball player Caroline “Line” Found, a team of dispirited high school girls must band together under the guidance of their tough-love coach in hopes of winning the state championship.

Based on a true story in Iowa, standout player Caroline “Line” Found (Danika Yarosh) tragically dies in a moped accident following her mother’s passing due to cancer. The volleyball team is heartbroken and left without direction. Coach Kathy Bresnahan (Helen Hunt) and the rest of the team must work through this tragedy together if they hope to win the state championship.

Line was an adventurous young lady who pushed boundaries and brought the Iowa West team to peak performance. After her death, Coach “Bres” rallies best friend of Line, Kelly (Erin Moriarty), to lead the team. Fueled by grief and wanting to make their lost teammate proud, the girls’ volleyball team has to overcome defying odds which seem unlikely to everyone.

Training harder than ever to “live like Line,” Coach Bres and the rest of the team come together with motivating speeches, tears, and a bit of humor defeat the competition.

In a world dominated by male sports, it’s about time we saw some girl power! “The Miracle Season” delivers teamwork, empowerment, and inspiration. Full of ups and downs, this movie pulls at your heartstrings while also sending a positive message to young girls.

In theaters Friday, April 6th
