Movie Review: “Miracle Fishing: Kidnapped Abroad” Is A Suspense-Filled Emotional Rollercoaster

The story of a father’s kidnapping as told through the 1994 video diaries of his son, the film’s Director Miles Hargrove.

In 1994, Tom Hargrove, an American scientist and journalist was kidnapped by revolutionary armed force guerrillas in Columbia known as FARC. Not knowing where the journey to his safety would lead, the process of his return was documented by his family. They joined forces with their neighbors, friends, and law enforcement, negotiating Tom’s ransom and release for almost a year.

With constant uncertainty, the family remained hopeful but realistic they may never see him again. This story depicts the true definition of love, strength, and hope, and watching it definitely felt like one big emotional rollercoaster filled with sudden ups and downs but the ending was surprisingly unexpected. If your go-to genre is mysteries or thrillers, you’ll most certainly want to see this one.
