Looking for a good time, two friends on a trip to Barcelona befriend a couple of girls but it’s not fun they find, instead they get trapped in a house haunted by a devilish ghost bent on tearing apart anyone that enters her dwelling.
Within the first five minutes of “Hooked Up,” we see the main character vomiting into a toilet (that lasted a solid 2 minutes), pooping in a stall, and being urinated on while in the bathtub. I think to myself. “This is either going to be really bad or this is going to be epic bad.”
After Peter breaks up with his girlfriend, he and his roommate decide a trip to Spain is in order. The plan is to drink, party, and hook up with girls. What ensues is a ridiculous combination of bad acting and awful special effects.
The whole film is shot with a cellphone which is the only thing in this movie that actually works since it is about two incredibly immature men that feel the need to video everything including peeing in a glass and giving it to a disgruntled boyfriend to drink to a close up shot of Peter’s bloodied underwear after his penis is given a nice bite by the girlfriend turn devil ghost.
These two unlikely friends do, indeed, hook up with girls and it turns out one of them is a possessed devil ghost…or is she? Never was quite able to pinpoint if she was dead or not with the bizarre ending.
This is a great movie for a prepubescent teenager that has just the right amount of boobs and silly gore. However, for any serious horror fan, this will be a waste of your time.
