Movie Review: “Enemies Of The State” Is A Strange Mystery I’m Still Trying To Figure Out

An American family becomes entangled in a bizarre web of secrets and lies when their hacker son is targeted by the U.S. government, making them all ENEMIES OF THE STATE.

“Enemies of the State” follows the investigation of Matt DeHart who was indicted for possession of child pornography denying these allegations claiming the charges were fabricated in order to conceal the government’s ploy to gain access to hidden crimes he had concealed on his computer. As a member of the group Anonymous, widely known for cyber attacks against several governments, Matt alleged to have had possession of secret files of corruption.

This film takes you through the legal case which gets confusing because you never get to see exactly what information is on the computer. The shocking reveal about Matt’s past changes the whole perspective about who he is and by the end of the story, you’re still confused and left feeling like you’ve just been strung along. This documentary will definitely keep you interested but it’s a bit disappointing in the end because you’re still left wondering.
