Movie Review: “Blue Dream” Is Haunting And Inspirational

Child cancer is one of the most serious diseases today. It can attack secretly and hide until one day you realize that something is wrong. “Blue Dream” tells the story of a swimmer who also has to face this illness with her only way out: the swimming pool.

“Blue Dream” is a quietly moving narrative of a young cancer patient. When faced with adversity our protagonist, Kinga Galambos, provides a storyline filled with fear, but more importantly hope, for her future.

This is her true story as she faces this illness in her own life. Her haunting narrative is touching and emotional as she reflects on the reality of the disease she fights. This stunningly beautiful short film of less than five minutes is filled with intense colors that resonate with life in contrast to the illness.

The penetrating blue of the swimming pool becomes the only solace for our victim. She seems intent to fight her battle wrapped in the safety of what that blue water holds for her. Full of intense imagery and evocative music this film pays homage to all those that battle cancer and their own personal swimming pool.
