Marvel Studios today, at long last, released a report on an upcoming roster of new superhero movies:
The new Captain America movie, titled “Captain America: Civil War”, will be released May 6, 2016.
A sequel to this year’s mega-blockbuster “Guardians of the Galaxy”, does not yet have a title but will be released May 5, 2017, moving it up two months from its previous release date of July 28.
The next Thor movie, titled “Thor: Ragnarok” will be released on July 28, 2017.
“Avengers: Age of Ultron” comes out May 1st, 2015 and Marvel President Kevin Feige, said today that the third installment in the series, titled “Avengers: Infinity War – Part I”, will be released on May 4, 2018, with Part II the following year on May 3, 2019.
Marvel also released the following titles and dates of a slew of new superhero movies:
“Doctor Strange” (Nov. 4, 2016)
“Black Panther” (Nov. 3, 2017)
“Captain Marvel” (July 6, 2018)
“Inhumans” (Nov. 2, 2018)
The internet has been abuzz recently with the news that Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast as “Doctor Strange” while Robert Downey Jr. initially exclaimed there would be no more solo “Iron Man” movies but in the past few weeks, has expressed an interest in doing “Iron Man 4” only if his buddy Mel Gibson were to direct it. As of today, there is no movement on the status of the film and with Marvel’s full line-up listed above, including next year’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron” in which Tony Stark appears, I doubt they’re in much of a rush to prep “Iron Man 4” any time soon.
