Bree Newsome, who took down the Confederate flag outside of the Statehouse in South Carolina, will talk to “Nightly Show” host Larry Wilmore about why she made that decision, what legal issues she is contending with and discuss the outpouring of positive and negative reactions she has received. Newsome’s only late-night interview will air on “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” on Thursday, July 2nd at 11:30 p.m. ET/PT.
On Monday night’s episode, Wilmore said of Newsome’s actions, “It’s kind of like that old saying: ‘If you want something done, wait around and do nothing until a kickass black woman comes along and does that shit for you.’ Kudos to Bree Newsome. ‘The Nightly Show’ is with you, girl. What she did was amazing.”
