“To Kill A Mockingbird” opens at the Firehouse Theatre September 9th and runs through the 25th, with preview set for September 8th. The novel, written by Harper Lee, was published in 1960. In the play, adapted by Christopher Sergel, Scout, a young girl in a quiet southern town, is about to experience the dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. She and her brother, Jem, are being raised by their widowed father, Atticus, and by a strongminded housekeeper, Calpurnia. Wide-eyed Scout is fascinated with the sensitively revealed people of her small town, but, from the start, there’s a rumble of thunder just under the calm surface of the life there. The Firehouse Theatre is excited to present this cherished but timely tale.
“To Kill A Mockingbird” is directed by Tyler Jeffrey Adams who you might have seen on the Firehouse stage in “Oklahoma,” “The Drowsy Chaperone,” and “Thoroughly Modern Millie.” Production team includes Technical Director and Fight Choreographer – Jason Leyva, Stage Manager – Nicole Lugar, Costume Designer – Hope Cox, Lighting Designer – Kyle Harris, Sound Designer – Brian Christensen, Set Designer – Kevin Brown, Set Construction by Jason Leyva, Dennis Williams and Properties – Cathy Pritchett.

The show will officially open on Friday, September 9th at 7:30pm, followed immediately by a post-show reception. $13 Preview on Thursday, September 8th at 7:30pm. Performances will continue through September 25th on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:30pm.
