“Chicken People” Available On DVD November 22

Enter the high stakes world where a single broken feather can mean a shattered dream in the acclaimed documentary, “Chicken People,” debuting on DVD November 22nd from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Samuel Goldwyn Films and CMT. “Chicken People,” a New York Times Critics’ Pick, details the trials and tribulations of those who breed exotic birds in the world of competitive poultry. The film follows three remarkably diverse personalities whose shared passion of raising the perfect chicken brings them together in competition. From the Ohio National Poultry Show, considered the Westminster of Chickens, to the Dixie Classic in Tennessee, the movie chronicles the struggles and triumphs of the primary protagonists, along with a wide array of competitors, both human and chicken.

Synopsis:

Chicken may be just food for most people, but raising the perfect chicken is an all-consuming passion for some. CMT has partnered with Emmy Award-winning Motto Pictures, and Emmy nominated director Nicole Lucas Haimes for “Chicken People,” a documentary that takes a charming and fascinating look at the colorful and hugely competitive world of champion show chicken breeders. A real life “Best in Show” but about chickens, the film follows the struggles and triumphs of both humans and their chickens on the road to compete at the Ohio National Poultry Show, considered the Westminster of Chickens.

“Chicken People” was directed and executive produced by Nicole Lucas Haimes. Jayson Dinsmore, Lewis Bogach and John Miller-Monzon also served as executive producers for CMT. The film was produced by Terry Leonard, Caroline Kaplan, Christopher Clements and Emmy Award Winner Julie Goldman.

“Chicken People” has a run time of approximately 83 minutes and is not rated.
