The murder of a family with blood and gore aplenty, teenage boys and girls bordering on the awakening of feelings so new, and the ability to explore those feelings is very well assembled. The format is set in the present day and the past. The men and women, boys and girls explain to each other what went on back then and what is transpiring now. The emotions you are introduced to are very grim, there is nothing soft and easily explained away, this is right in your face and you need a strong stomach to take it all in.
This will keep you turning the pages, trying to understand the cruelty hidden beneath a so-called love, the mind that twists and turns when you finally think you have the answer only to discover that you are nowhere close. The characters are well-written and you note the changes that take place down the years. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and look forward to more stories written to this standard.
