AT&T Performing Arts Center Announces “Strauss Square Uncovered” & “Brave Combo” Concerts

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that tickets for the Grammy Award-winning band Brave Combo went go on sale yesterday, Monday, August 31st at 10 a.m. Brave Combo will perform at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 4th on the Shannon and Ted Skokos Pavilion in the Center’s outdoor venue, Annette Strauss Square, which was recently named “Dallas’ Best Outdoor Venue” by the Dallas Observer.

Brave Combo, the Denton-based purveyors of fine polka for more than three decades, will wrap up the nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center’s Uncovered in Strauss Square. Known for their impeccable musicianship and lively approach to genres from A to Z, Brave Combo will cover the 60’s in an unforgettable concert experience. With a set list including The Doors, The Who, The Bee Gees, Cream and more, Brave Combo will interpret the classics as only they can. From the psychedelic to the pop-inspired, the hits of the 60s will be re-imagined through their unique musical lens.

Strauss Square Uncovered begins on September 23rd at 7 p.m., in a newly created Center concert series, featuring bands that take you back and make you sing out loud. “Petty Theft – The music of Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers” kicks things off in Annette Strauss Square. On October 7th, ‘90s nostalgia kids can get their alternative rock and pop fix with the Clinton Years, opening for Straight Tequila Night whose spirited performances bring the best of country hits back for seconds. Fans will be thrilled to learn that Austin-based Selena tribute band Bidi Bidi Banda will make their very first appearance on October 21st.

General admission ticket prices for Brave Combo – Strauss Square Uncovered are $15 and can be purchased online at www.attpac.org, by phone at 214-880-0202 or in person at the AT&T Performing Arts Center Information Center at 2353 Flora Street (Monday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Tuesday thru Saturday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Sunday 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.). These are not BYOB events.

Founder Carl Finch started Brave Combo in 1979, and is still going strong, alongside bandmates Danny O’Brien, Alan Emert, Lyle Atkinson and Robert Hokamp. They are a Grammy-award winning band featured in numerous television shows, feature films and have played live extensively throughout their career.”
