The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today the Off Broadway On Flora 2015/2016 season. As with last year’s inaugural season, 2015/2016 will feature adventurous and challenging touring productions, many of which have enjoyed sold-out success off Broadway and elsewhere.
The 2015/2016 season begins September 24 – 26 with MURDER FOR TWO, nominated for the Outer Critics Circle Award for outstanding new off-Broadway musical. October features two-time Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs Award winner, Charles Busch, with Broadway pianist Tom Judson, in A DIVINE EVENING WITH CHARLES BUSCH. In February 2016, the season continues with THE LION, winner of the 2015 Drama Desk Award for best solo performance, written and performed by Benjamin Scheuer. In April, we’ll present GHOST QUARTET, a song cycle about love, death and whiskey, with music and lyrics by two-time OBIE Award winner, Dave Malloy. The season culminates May 12 – 14 with THE INTERGALACTIC NEMESIS – a live action graphic novel created by Jason Neulander, Austin’s internationally-acclaimed writer, director, and producer.
Each production will be staged in one of two venues that straddle Flora Street, which runs through the heart of the Dallas Arts District. Venues for this season will include Potter Rose Performance Hall in the Wyly Theatre and Dallas City Performance Hall.

Charles Busch, author and star of such plays as The Divine Sister, Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, The Tribute Artist and The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife presents his award winning cabaret, full of classic lounge songs and plenty of saucy dish. Busch’s CABARET is a pastiche of classic cabaret songs, anecdotes from Busch’s career, a medley that suggests an early‐1930s pre‐Code melodrama and a mini‐play about the fictional show-biz wannabe, Miriam Passman. The show, full of outrageous personal stories, original characters, Hollywood film parody and classic songs, promises to be a smashing good time and the must-see event of the fall!

Ghost Quartet is a haunting song cycle about love, death, and whiskey from Dave Malloy, the two-time OBIE Award-winning mind responsible for 2012’s Off-Broadway hit electropop opera, Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812.
A camera breaks and four friends drink, in four interwoven narratives spanning seven centuries: a warped fairy tale about two sisters, a treehouse astronomer and a lazy evil bear; a retelling of Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Fall of the House of Usher”; a purgatorial intermezzo about Scheherazade and the ghost of Thelonious Monk; and a contemporary fable about a subway murder.
Blurring the line between theater and contemporary music performance, the show is a theatrical presentation of an album, staged in the round, with the musicians seated amongst the audience.
