Following events surrounding the legendary Penn State football coach Joe Paterno and the aftermath of his assistant coach Jerry Sandusky’s sexual abuse scandal, the HBO Film “Paterno” is available for Digital Download May 7th.

After becoming the winningest coach in college football history, Joe Paterno, played by Academy Award® and Emmy Award® winner Al Pacino (HBO’s “You Don’t Know Jack,” “Scent of a Woman”), is embroiled in the Sandusky scandal, challenging his entire football legacy and forcing him to face questions of institutional failure on behalf of the victims.

Co-written and directed by Barry Levinson (HBO’s “You Don’t Know Jack,” “Rain Man”), Paterno features a “brilliant as ever” (Newsday) performance from Pacino in his third HBO collaboration with the award-winning filmmaker.

Also starring Riley Keough (“The Girlfriend Experience”), Annie Parisse (“Friends From College”), Kathy Baker (“The Age Of Adaline”), Greg Grunberg (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”) and Larry Mitchell (“Brawl in Cell Block 99”), “Paterno” is executive produced by Barry Levinson, Jason Sosnoff, Tom Fontana, Edward R. Pressman, Rick Nicita, and Lindsay Sloane.
