“Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict” Opens In Los Angeles Nov. 13

Submarine Deluxe will open “Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict,” Lisa Immordino Vreeland’s (“Diana Vreeland: The Eye Has To Follow”) latest portrait of a notoriously eccentric grande dame, on Friday, November 13th exclusively at Landmark’s Nuart Theatre in West Los Angeles. On Friday, November 20th, the film’s run will expand to include the Regal University Town Center 6 in Irvine. “Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict” will open New York on November 6th and will continue to roll out nationally.

A colorful character who was not only ahead of her time but helped to define it, Peggy Guggenheim was an heiress to her family fortune who became a central figure in the modern art movement. As she moved through the cultural upheaval of the twentieth century, she collected not only art, but artists. Her colorful personal history included such figures as Samuel Beckett, Max Ernst, Jackson Pollock, Alexander Calder, Marcel Duchamp as well as countless others. While battling personal tragedy, she not only championed the work of many seminal artists but also built one of the most important collections of modern art, now enshrined in her Venetian palazzo.

“Peggy Guggenheim: Art Addict” premiered at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival and is a picture into Guggenheim’s world: abstract, colorful and as salacious as the artwork she revered. The film also played at the 2015 AFI Docs festival and at the 2015 Telluride Film Festival.
