Nico B, founder of the legendary Cult Videotheek, started Cult Epics in the Netherlands in 1991 due to demand. Cult Epics’ first releases were “The Exotic Dances of Bettie Page,” “Henry, Portrait of a Serial Killer,” “Cannibal Holocaust,” “The Beast,” and “Tokyo Decadence.”
Moving to the US in 1998, Nico B continued releasing arthouse, horror, and erotica films in North America, while having personal relationships with directors such as Walerian Borowczyk, Tinto Brass, Fernando Arrabal, Radley Metzger, Jorg Buttgereit, Abel Ferrara, Agusti Villaronga, and Dutch filmmakers Rene Daalder, Pim de la Parra, and Nouchka van Brakel, as well as other cult icons such as Bunny Yeager, Bettie Page, and Rozz Williams, all of whom inspired his filmmaking.
Cult Epics’ catalog includes over 250 releases to date, in definitive editions on DVD, Blu-ray™, and 4K Ultra HD.
