Blu-ray Review: “The Flash: The Complete Fifth Season” Is One Of The Best Seasons Yet

Shortly after defeating The Thinker, Barry Allen/The Flash and his wife, Iris, were stunned by the arrival of their already grown, speedster daughter from the future, Nora (Jessica Parker Kennedy). However, acclimating to their lives as parents won’t be the only challenge they face, as Season Five pits Team Flash against Central City’s latest scourge – the DC Super-Villain Cicada (Chris Klein).

Season five of “The Flash” brings big changes to the show. Nora appears all grown-up. She is the daughter of Barry and Iris from the future. She tells them a little of what happens in the future and has a tense relationship with both her mother and father throughout the season. She is also keeping secrets in regards to her motives for being here.

They have to deal with big bad Cicada this season, who seems to have their number at every turn. He is a formidable opponent. There is also a new Harrison this season (quite a few actually). Caitlin goes in search of her father along with Cisco, old enemies appear periodically, personal situations affect each of the team members and they must all band together if they are to overcome them and defeat Cicada, with Nora being to the key to everything.

Another great season of “The Flash” with stories a little more personal and the action as good as it ever has been. The addition of Nora to the cast gives us and Barry and Iris a hint at the future and what could be. With big things happening in the season finale, things might be really different as we head into season six of the series in October.
